Made with APAK during their one week residency with Islands Fold, Pender Island, BC Canada, 2006. The islands and ocean wrap around the large studio room and incorporates a door within a large abstract mountain. The story is influenced by the Islands Fold resident/host experience. The mural’s story begins with two characters and their dog Ocho, parachuting upon the welcoming hosts. The characters are having a picnic on an island, playing with orcas, painting a rainbow tree with the hosts, and concludes with all the characters exchanging gifts and knowledge. The crystal represents art and creativity and the mushroom represents healing and health.
