I read this article. It’s about Mr Mak becoming an overnight designer sensation and how he may of ripped-off a logo design by Chris Thornley. It’s amusing to me how much attention Mr.Mak’s image received. Here I’ve made a crummy rip-off of a rip-off ( a fun thing to write. ) So, is it fair game?  I wouldn’t be surprised if someone else has done something similar, but I am yet to see. Plagiarism is a funny thing in this day and age. Steve Jobs or anyone else dying of cancer isn’t funny to me, and my rip-off isn’t intended to be disrespectful, but probably is. I’m not surprised with how his death created such attention amongst people that didn’t know him as a person. Granted he was an amazing innovator that changed a lot of our lives in the way we compute, but how can we ignore the cancers that have been caused to the earth because of the technologies he’s pioneered? Upgrading and playing with another Apple may distract us from such a statement. This post is just to stir the pot and create critical thought and debate. My apologies to whomever this may offend, but art has the freedom to do so- or does it? Oh yeah this isn’t art, it’s design-sorry.
